Xperia X10 - Backup and Restore problem resolved after Android upgrade 2.3.3

This process will help you resinstall the old backup and restore on your x10 after the upgrade to Android 2.3.3

1. On your phone: go to settings -> applications -> 'check' unknown sources

2. On your phone goto Android Market and download: IO File manager

3. On your PC: Download this file http://www.elita-clan.com/downloads/...re_v010935.apk

4. Connect your phone to pc and copy downloaded file to your sdcard.

5. Disconnect phone from pc.

6 On your phone open IO file manager and look for download file on your sdcard and open it.

7. Follow instructions to install program and at the end click 'OPEN' to start the app.

8. This will now allow you to have the original program to restore your files back onto your X10

Hello,

I can't find my Back up & Restore application on my Sony Ericsson Experia X10.

Tried your eplanation, but the link you wrote down can't be opened after downloading. So how do I copy this onto my SD-card which is in my phone?

I really hope you can help me, because now it's hard for me to use my phone since all my data has disappeared.

I've downloaded the app as posted, but now I don't know what to do next.

If I open this app, I can't find the back up & resore option as mentioned in the message.

Hopefully someone can explain to me what to do (step by step, if possible!)

After re-inserting my SD-card it seems to work!

Hi. I have downloaded the app and have tried to install it but I get the message "application not installed" and can go no further.

What do I need to do to make my app load up (so I can retieve all my backed up stuff from previously)?

Just wondering if you ticked the Unknown Sources option in the Settings Menu ---> Applications ---> Unknown sources

Also just to make sure that the file you downloaded was not corrupted during download, can you try to down load it again.

The file size should be around 2,748 KB.

I have used this apk file successfully.

You can also try another file manager if you like. I don't think it is the file manager. Anyway worth a try. I used this file manager successfully.

Hi. Checked unknown sources - no joy.

Have tried downloading the file both through the QR code and directly from the website from multiple different locations (just in case thetre was a connection problem)- no joy.

Tried downloading Astro File Manager and using that- no joy.

The file size is 2.25MB.

this is getting frustrating.

Glad you finally got it working.

Just for any other people have the error message of "Application not installed" when trying to install the apk file, please check the file size of your Back Up and Restore apk file.

If it is not around the 2,748KB size it means you have not downloaded the full file.

I am having teh same issue. I have the correct zip file downloaded (2748 kb), but when I unzip it, there is no apk file there. Am I doing something wrong?
