hi uliwooly-wooly

im a novice when it comes to this stuff. when the command box comes up and you type ipconfig -all, and all that writing comes up, what am i meant to do with that information? under the use static ip address it asks for an ip address, gateway, netmask, dns 1 and dns 2. what am i meant to enter in there? and how do i know what ip i am meant to enter in the ip address box, where do i get that from?

this is driving me nuts. i have had the phone for months, and havn't had a problem with it. now all of a sudden it wont connect to my router at home when every other wireless device in the house does. there have been no new devices added since my phone. i havnt mesed around with any settings on my phone until this problem. i just dont understand why it has worked for so long and then all of a sudden it stops working! whats worse is my brother has the same phone and he hasn't had any issues! i hope you can help, or someone can help!

To avoid complication you could try to use the Wifistatic application from the Market as this performs a similar function without the complication. Basically you download it then open it whilst trying to connect to the router and it will offer the option to add a configuration for the router and may resolve the issue.
