Cannot import contacts after phone update

I have updated my phone as was experiencing problems with it and was told this would help. I backed up everything onto my memory card before I updated it.

Now, when I go to import contacts, it says, Could not read memory card ("NovCard file on memory card"). Please tell me I have not done this wrong and have lost all my contacts... aaaagh, help!!!

Ok. Don't panic yet.

Try to find a USB Micro SDHC card reader so that you can insert the card reader to your PC's USB port. Remove the SD Card and put it into the card reader.

Then if you are able to see the contents of your SD card, on your PC's file manager, copy the contents to some location in your PC.

Once you have transferred the contents, format the SD card using the FAT32 option if your card size is above 2GB.

Recopy back the contents you placed on the PC back to the card.

Now insert the SD Card back into the phone.

Hopefully your phone will be able to recognise the card.
