How about to have an official bug fix / wish list here on the forum. Forum users to add their bugs and suggestions for continuous improvement to the Arc handset for the benefit of all Arc users and Sony!

Come on Sony forum reps, have you learnt from the past, are you up for the challenge?

I can kick things off with the following

Yeah..I also hope so..Bcs my sister has also been affected by this.Her phone sometimes restarts by itself man...Sometimes she even has to take out the battery and restart the phone..But one thing is that the performance of other things like multi-tasking and multi-touch in browsers is damn powerful and nice...Oh ya I just forgot to tell that there is a new update for the X10..Go and read up by clicking this link.http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_x10_update-news-2702.php

Update from Sony, current PC Companion (Ver 2.01.192) is passive software and the current Android 2.3.3 does not feed the data to the program, meaning unless there is a change in the future to Android or PC companion the battery true battery level will not be shown in PC Companion when connecting an Android handset.

Wish

That the icons did not reorder/rearrange themselves when the phone is powered off and on. Other forum posts seem to indicate that this is a bug, however Sony have advised me that the device is working as designed!

If you are going to monitor this tread i´m going to copy/paste other time:

XPERIA ARC:

Hello everyone, I know sony is listening to us, in the spanish forum htcmania.com(http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=217923) we have made a list of new or old bugs that have not been solved with the new firmware 2.3.3. and suggestions for new updates.
List of issues:

- When you restart the phone or remove the SD, the apps installed on the SD doesn´t maintain the own order.

-When you call in GSM mode only, the sound is choppy on calls(breaks in sound). In WCDMA does not occur.
-Sony Ericsson home crashes and issues related to the SD and the detection of apps installed on it.
-When you're making a call when you hang up the phone is not locked, however if the other person with you are talking hang up the phone is locked, why this? This doesn´t allow to see the call timing.

-In USB transfer mode, half of the time you connect the phone to the pc nothing appears or occur. (In my case win7 x64)
-There is no automatic brightness option in the menu screen.

-The widget on/off backlight since 2.3.3 doesn´t remember an intermediate brightness. For example: If you have the brightness on 60% when you push the widget it turns to 0%. When you push for a second time the brightness go to 100% instead of remember 60% value. This doesn´t happen on 2.3.2.

(Suggestion): Add intermediate values to this widget. For example 0,25,50,100%
-The percentage of battery grows with the phone unplugged.

(suggestion)Possible option to calibrate the battery

-When   you restart the phone or turn it on , the last missed calls appear in   the notification bar even if you have deleted it previously.
-Force   Close, appears in the gallery sometimes. In addition, when you have a   lot of images in the gallery every time you open it, the phone needs to   load, however if you have a few images the phone only needs to load the first time you open the gallery.
-Random reboots(software) and   reboots caused because the battery doesn´t make a good contact with the pin contacts(hardware), this cause the phone to reboot with small   socks(for example when you leave the phone into the table). I have   solved this putting a thin carton that push up the battery against the   pin contacts.This is the reboot by little shock i´m talking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KScE8-eXuIk
-The album covers doesn´t appear or only appear some   of them. The solution is to erase and re-copy the music folder (or try   to simply rename the music folder think it also works) and restart the   phone. Now the covers are shown.
- (Suggestion) Make an option in   the bluetooth widget to make visible the bluetooth, otherwise if you   use the widget you have to enter in adjustments to make it visible for a few seconds making the widget useless.
- (Suggestion): When you   install a game like eternal legacy, many of the music files, videos and   images then appear in the gallery. Creation of specific folders whose   content is the only one who you wants to appear in the gallery.
-   (Suggestion): More widgets in the launcher of the arc as meteorology,   the screen off, flash on/off, battery % and so on. (Like the app   extended controls).

-(Suggestion): Possibility to select the compression or quality of the photos taken by the camera.

And please update all the Qualcomm chipset device drivers, Adreno driver, Synaptics touchscreen driver, Broadcom BCM4329 driver on Android whenever you release updates.

- Mark track as favourite (like on X10) and/or support rating (0-5 stars)

- Easy fast delete of track (I'm unable to delete the track i'm listening, X10 do it)

i agree with u

i do like to listen to.music.

i always believ that SE phones have a great sound (specially their walkman phone)

but, i'm little disappointed because in my opinion xperia arc's sound isn't great

i wish SE will improve this phone sound quality on the next update

I have had the following bugs over the last few days appear. I have to say even the X10 wasn't this buggy!!

Was unable to activate/deactivate Wifi - Android status was "Error"
Clock widget stopped, even though the phone time was correct
I was on a call with the phone to my ear, when all of a sudden I was connected to my voicemail in the middle of the call!
This morning, I tried typing a message and every time i pressed the screen, lots of letters started typing by themselves. I rebooted the phone and this stopped so it definitely wasn't something distrubing the screen
Google Voice search frequently comes up with a connection error even though I am speaking clearly
Also, the resolution of album art is really bard - I assume because the Arc makes the pictures bigger than the X10 did

Wish List

Obviously there are some things about this phone that kick ass, but there are some basic imporvements which would go a lon way

Ability to scroll through music without fuly unlocking the phone like HTC Sense
Ability to create a playlist from folders - at present you can only do this by track and eveyrhting is listred in trak name order so it's anightmare to find some tracks
Ability to change tracks while screen is locked by long-pressing the volume buttons as per older Sony Ericsson phones
Bring back the X10 option of clicking on music infinity button showing all other tracks on your phone by the artist (not just on youtube)
Ability to zoom in 8MP mode, even if this automatically then changes to 2MP mode as switching between the two settings is annoying

i am amazed with how detailed some of the responses were... wow. i just downloaded the new update, and i must say its a new phone, and so far the widget for the screen brightness was annoying, but the powerbar widget is now in it's place, so my problem is solved...

i just wish the email app on the phone - i am not sure if its android or SE - but i love it, i wish it does get updated from gmail just like it is on push from Exchange.... both emails update on the spot but gmail only updates on the spot in the GMAIL app and not in the email app... unless i am doing something wrong.

some times when i text the text message goes, but the next time i text the same person i would find what ever i typed in the sent message is apperaing in my box, i have to delete every thing and type new. some times it really gets you, when i see that text in my box i would think i did not click on send, so i would send it again turns out i just sent a duplicate, gets annoying some times.

please reduce those different countries different updates, canada got updated a month after, and i am talking about the generics, please. i STILL THINK WE NEED BIGGER RAM, if SE goes dual processor, i just think it won't be enought we need more more DDR3 RAM.

regarding the txt saved as draft, what happen is that if 1) you have a lot of sms/mms stored on your messaging app which will make it slower and 2) you sent a txt and then you pressed the back or home buttom right away before the sms was sent

One more important thing. In the phone we have sound recorder app by google, but there is no shortcut, and we can´t acces to it!!!!!!!!

Uliwooly you are in your style always with apps of market.............We don´t want market apps, we want xperia own apps!!!!!

I know, but the whole point of an smart phone is that you have access to thousands of apps, if SE preinstalled a lot of apps then it'll be great for some but it will suck for the rest, just think about it, do you use this apps

postcard

lets golf

timescape

etc

but they are preloaded and we can't delete them, well you can but you have to root and then use titanium backup

I think SE should make the apps and make them available to the market (Sony Ericsson channel)
