PC software download

Hi,

I have downloaded PC software companion 2.0 from the sony erricsson website. But when i open the software on my computer, it tells me i need to update the s oftware. But when clicking update, it does not update.

Kindly suggest.

I don't know which error you're getting, but you could try downloading on another PC as a temporary solution.Do you have any other SE or other manufacturer's mobile phone software installed on your PC?

Uninstall PC Companion and try again.Also check that your firewall/antivirus isn't blocking it.

Hi Chris,

As advised, i uninstall PC companion and then i was able to download Update service software. But when i open the installed Update service, it starts with Resolving network settings and before it is complete i get the message 'No Network'. 'Unable to connect to network'.Please check your network connection and try again'.

But i am already connected to network. In short, it does not work.

You can try it in safe mode or on another PC.

I have been trying for several hours to update this phone. I have an Xperia X10i. When running Sony PC Companion at the preparing computer for software update I get Sony Uppdate Engine failure (error 1100). I have reinstalled this, rebooted, checked Zone Alarm, made sure it had full access, can't get past this. So then I ran the Sony Update Service, it starts out with resolving a network error??? unable to connect to the network. This is not how I wanted to spend several hours on a Saturday night, I just want to update the phone. I have had a look around google and all I seem to find is other people complaining about the same problem but with no real resolutions.
