Data usage and Timescape

Hi all,

New to the Arc and worried about data usage with Timescape, as it seems to be connecting to Facebook etc constantly... How can I manage how the phone connects to the internet?

go to settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks > uncheck data enable..

by this your phone will not connct to internet..

if you want to surf the interne again then just enable it 😉

You can turn off background data, auto-sync on the phone and also disable the mobile wireless data.

To turn off background data and auto sync :

Go to the settings menu ---> Accounts & Sync ---> Backhround data traffic (untick the box)

Untick the Activate auto-sync option also

To turn off the mobile wireless data :

Go to the settings menu ---> Wireless & networks ---> Mobile networks ---> Data enabled (untick)

If you want to use wi fi

Go to the settings Menu --> Wireless and networks settings ---> Wi Fi (tick the box)

My your explanation as to manage data usage was far easier than Sony Support's.

They could not tell me where in settings for "Gingerbread" only with "ICS", that I could sort the usage out, with my Experia U.

The software update for my SI number has still not been released; so I am without ICS still.
