WEP Wi-Fi issue

Hey guys I have a big problem: I am at my friend, he has a router secured with WEP, I connected to it but it says Limited Connectivity and I can't access the internet. I happened everytime whenI connect to a WEP router. The problem is, that only his dad knows the admin password for router settings, so we can't change the security to WPA or Open. I have no wi-fi at home. Please help me make WEP Wi-Fi work!

I have WEP wifi at work and it worked just fine, make sure you have the correct password

Ok thanks I will try that and... by the way, how can I install apps from android market via USB? I have no internet connection on my Arc but I logged in to gmail at a time so I have it in list on android market.

About the password: I'm using the same password that he uses on his LG GT505 and it's working on his phone.

you will have to download the Apps (APK) to your computer from

either

http://www.freeandroidware.com/

http://www.androiddownloadz.com/

then mount your phone to your computer, I suggest ou put all the apps in one folder and call it APK, then transfer it to your SD card

but this File Manager app must be install from the market before you can install other apps

go to Settings -> applications -> make sure Unknown sources is selected

once you do that, open OI File Manager, go to your SD card -> APK -> tap on one of the apps and tap on install, repeat the process with the rest

I would just try the password again w/o this app, and if it doesnt look for the network and enter the WEP key at the bottom

there might be an issue with your phone, I'm testing it right now.

try the long way

settings -> wireless & networks -> wifi settings -> add wifi network -> type the SSID and select WEP enter the password and see if that does it

Same thing, still limited connectivity. I've seen this problem also on Xperia X8.

The problem is that I resofted my phone (checked for updates and installed same software), and still the same thing.

ok, lets try this again

1st backup everything but the settings

2nd download and install update service

3rd repair your phone

then see if that solves the issue

Yes, everything excepting WEP. WPA and Open routers are working fine
