MW600 does not power on

I have two MW600 headsets and both of them do not power on. When plugged into the charger, the battery icon shows that both devices are fully charged. Resetting the devices by holding the phone and power button simultaneously does not work. I have also tried charging the devices overnight, but nothing has worked.

I previously had one of the devices hang while powered on and paired with a bluetooth phone, but that issue fixed itself when I let the battery drain on its own for a few days and recharged it.

Please advise if the devices need to be returned for replacement.

Unfortunately there is not a lot of troubleshooting we can do if the device will not respond to pushing the power button. With this being the case I would have to advise that you return the product for assessment.

The following method fixed one of the two headsets temporarily, but the fix only lasted for a few minutes. It appears that my devices have battery issue.

(However, thanks to pyromosh for the suggestion below.)

Plug the MW600 into the charger. Keep it plugged in for a minute or two.
Hold the power button as you normally would to power the device on or off.
While still holding the power button, unplug the charger from the MW600.
Continue to hold the power button. In a few seconds the MW600 should power on normaly.
Once the MW600 powers on, plug the charger back in and recharge it until the battery icon animation stops.
Unplug and enjoy until it dies again.

i'm facing the same problem!..

tried the work-around, btu still can't switch on my MW600.

Sony Ericsson has not been helpful. They basically asked me to contact the seller I bought the products from. So here I am with two useless Sony products.

Based on my recent experience with Sony, I am not sure I will be eager to buy another product from them in the future.

If you are unable to return the product to your seller, I'd recommend speaking with Sony Ericsson support in your region in order to arrange an examination of the products.

It's basically useless to attempt to contact Sony customer support. I tried to get this resolved several times over a period of a few days and I kept getting transferred between two different departments.

hi guys,

i've send my MW600 unit to the nearest SE service center in Kuala Lumpur, and less than 1 week, i received a call that my unit is ready to be collect. Suprisingly, when i collect my unit, i get the NEW MW600!... super nice!

If you are still experiencing problems with your headset, please take the handset to an authorised service location for examination and repair.

I have the same power button problem.

Sometimes it just turns off by itself and it won't turn on.

Investigation / Observations:

What i observed is when I plug it in to charge... sometimes the battery animation does not show or when it shows it is on reverse or kinda disfigured image of the normal battery charging animation.

Temporary solution:

When plugged in, i try pressing / pulling the bottom and also pushing SE logo of the bluetooth. and when the normal battery display shows, i unplug and i can turn on the device properly. It seems there's a loose wire or something is blocking the mechanism inside. I do this everytime it won't turn on but i can't do it when i'm outside when i don't have the charger.

Now, there's no more SE right? only Sony. Will Sony handle support for SE devices?

Such a great design with support for multple bluetooth devices and FM radio. Unfortunately comes with bad batterry. My MW600 got the same issue just after the warranty period. I loved it soo much. but I don't think I will buy another sony bluetooth handfree ever again

Hi,

I am facing the same problem. Right now, i am in India and Sonry India is not helping me and saying that "If you bought in US, you can't get any support in India". Please do needful to solve this issue, few more dollers will not increase your revnue, but few complain to your product will spoil your multi million doller brand and product.

The battery of my MW600 shows charged up but it does not switch on. The device is only 3 months old. I purchased this online. What is the solution to get it checked up or get it replaced as it should still be under warrnty.

Samething is happening with mine. When I plug the charger, it shows charging icon but unable to turn it on at all.

I bought this just over a year ago from Amazon.

I won't be buying anything from Sony.

BTW, I've only used a handful of times since buying this.

Same happened to me just as my warranty is over.......I'm done with Sony for awhile as i really liked the product but can never recommend it. Oh the workaround never worked for me but I do see the battery icon when charging.

I Fixed my MW600...

WHAT HAPPEND?
- I was listening music and it fell from my arm for the chair, about 30cm height and after that, it not power again...

HOW I FIXED IT?
- I had to disassembled it. I had to remove its battery, spinning a little the battery and put its back. I pushed the power button and it worked...

Dear Sony Expert,

Please be noted that my device is not charging up when we insert the USB Charger,

For this Purpose i had taken this device to Tambaram,Chennai,Tamilnadu,Service Center,

They as me for the bill,But unfortunately i had lost my bill,

they directly say me that is without bill no Repairs are Replacements would be supported,

Can you please support me what to do in this Case,Being Bought for 3500/- INR,If the response is like this it is very hard for to Digest that being a Big Brand we could not get the proper Reply,
