Firmware Update for SE x10

Can anybody tell me when I will be able to update my X10 firmware in the UK without debranding my phone ??

I personally think that this is a disgrace that SE have had two firmware updates since I have brought my phone and I have been unable to have either of them. The only option to get such updates are to debrand the phone, which SE does not support, but yet SE take so long to get updates to the branded phones that this leaves their users no choice but to debrand their handsets.

From what I've heard the firmware update will be sometime this September. If anyone knows the details, please advise.

The Android 2.1 update will be available from sometime this month.

I got a notification on my phone yesterday saying there was a software update. I thought this might be the upgrade to 2.1 as it required a pc to do the download. After following all the instructions and waiting what seemed like hours, I was told the install was unsuccessful. My phone now does not turn on at all. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it possible to revert back to the previous software version? I have only had the phone 3 months!!

Plug the phone in to USB and use PC companion repair option, following the on screen instructions.

I dont have pc companion installed and now that my phone has no OS it isn't recognised when plugging into the PC via USB. I have no options, no menu, no start screen, nothing

Yeah, I did the same update a couple of days ago. It is not the Android 2.1 update. I have no clue what this update does. But, I was able to get it done without a problem. sorry about what happened to your phone.

I believe you can do a firmware repair, but you'll lose all your data from before. So I certainly hope you've backed up all your important information.

BTW after 2 hours, the battery could have gone totally flat. You might want to try plugging it in for an hour before switching it on again.

PS: Did you try removing the battery and reinserting it after about 20 seconds?

i still couldnt find it.. but they said its end of september somewhere.. so it doesnt matter lol. Anyway ill be happy to even have 2.1 so i can connect to my campus wifi.. looking at my friends htc and connecting to the wifi with it killed me a little on the inside.. man 100mb/s and i cant use it

Yeah everything is backed up but the phone went back to the store today as I couldn't get the repair option to work. Tried just about everything. PC companion repair didn't work. Problem was that it kept asking me to select an option on the menu on the phone but of course if the phone doesnt boot up it's a bit difficult!

So I guess you tried the SEUS program as well? That one repairs it from a cold boot. But it is more like a reinstalling of the firmware.

Anyway, I hope they repair it for you asap.

Thanks, hope it'll be back soon cos I'm still in the "love my new phone" phase since I've only had it 3 months and I'm excited about the firmware upgrade *sad*

They reckon it'll be a couple of weeks before I get it back. Firmware release due imminently and I'm gutted I'm probably gonna miss the release. You never know though, it may come back with the upgrade already done

I seriously wonder if SE will release it in Singapore among the firsts. We are one of SE's important launching pad in Asia.... at least it used to be, not sure about these 2 years.
