Google apps on Xperia X8 cannot connect

This is Rohan Bhosale from Mumbai.

I bought this android based Xperia X8 in December and am not able to connect to any of the apps that came with the handset that connect to the internet.

All that I am able to use is the browser. The other applications on the phone like the Facebook, Gmail, Youtube, GTalk, Geotags, Navgation app. do not work.

When I start these apps the login screen appears and post entering the user id and password all that I see is this

"Your phone needs to communicate with the Google servers to setup your account. This may take upto five minutes." and then the error is thrown as

"Can not establish a reliable data connection to the server."

I have been trying to contac the service provider Vodafone in this case and they don't seem to have a clue as to what settings are required for this stuff.

GPRS is actrivated on my handset and the fact that I am able to browse internet on my phone confirms it.

Please send me a solution in terms of the settings or seteps to follow to make the apps work since without the usage of the apps the actual usage of the phone cannot be had.

try this.

Can’t establish a secure connection with Google servers?

try checking if you have the right apn setting.
