topic Possible to switch off position-learning keyboard? in XPERIA archive

Hi all,

I am constantly experiencing trouble typing correctly, always hitting the wrong keys and having to make corrections. It seems to have gotten worse after the .305 upgrade.

I suspect that this could be due to my style of typing: sometimes I use one finger, sometimes two fingers, sometimes two thumbs - so if the keyboard is trying hard to learn my finger positionings, it will probably constantly be confused and re-adjust. If this is the case then if would be much more practical for me to not have a learning keyboard, and train my fingers instead: if the keyboard re-adjusts all the time, I will never know where to put my fingers.

- Can anybody confirm that the keyboard is trying to learn finger positionings?

- Does anyone know how to turn this off?

Thanks!

I don't think that's how it works, it doesn't learn the finger position, but if you are swiping then it will learn words and predict the next possible word based on your typing habits

Thanks uliwooly.

Can someone confirm that this feature is not present on the Z5c? (my older phone did have this)

The suggestions-based-on-personal-dictionary is a different thing altogether.
