Z5 Compact - Poor WiFi Connectivity

I've only had my Z5 Compact a few days but I can't seem to get a good enough connection to access the Play Store or YouTube.

I know it's not my router because my battered old Samsung S4 Mini, on the same router, is lightning fast. I can literally stream a video instantly on my S4 while the Z5 just times out each time. Have tried restarting and reconnecting as the only device.

Any suggestions?

Tried safe mode. Seemed slow at first but now it's really got up to speed. Play Store's working now too.

Still won't stream YouTube or connect to the PlayStore in normal mode. I deleted a microphone app and the reddit app, my only other apps are the ones that came pre-installed and widely used ones like Twitter, WhatsApp and Instagram.

If it works fine in >>> safe mode but not in normal mode, then it is a third party app, what you could do is to repair the phone with XC and report back, or you could uninstall ALL third party apps > restart the phone > check again

also, forget the WiFi >restart the phone > add it again.
