Z2 locked and password forgotten

I need help

My friend got his z2 locked and forgot the password

Ive tried doing a hard reset by pressing volume down and power button to open fastboot but all i see is sony logo.

Any ideas what to dp?

Tracking doesn't work, sygnal doesn't work, lock doesn't work, deleting all data doesn't work

Is there any button Combination? Or just xperia Companion left.

Hi @Curnow1,

Before trying a software repair using Xperia Companion, could you also try Android device manager? It works in a similar way to what @uliwooly described with my Xperia.

Start by going to https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager, then log in using the same credentials as you use in your device. Once logged in, choose the device you wish to lock > Lock. Now enter your new password. A good idea is to also set a recovery message, so that you can see when the change has been made on your device.

Make sure that your device has an active internet connection or the changes won't be possible.

I have tried the ADM.

It located my phone, rang my phone, but it's unable to lock my phone.

Please HELP!!!!!!

Hi @patternlock,

Have you tried the my Xperia method as well? In that case I can only refer you to do a software repair using Xperia Companion.

On your computer go to MyXperia > login > select your device > lock > enter a 4 digit pin > lock.

On your phone enter the new 4 digit code, that should remove any pin, pattern or password.

For MyXperia to work, the phone has to be:

1. On

2. Data or WiFi on

3. GPS on

4. Your Gmail account/email has to be on the phone

5. You must know your Gmail password

6. MyXperia has to be on/enabled

I have tried the above plenty of times.

Message showed

"We r currently not able to lock your device; we will send an email when we lock it"

I never do back up for my phone.

If i do factory reset, all my data will gone.

I not afford to lost so.

PLEASE HELP

I am sorry to hear that. There are no other ways aside from my Xperia and ADM which I can refer to which you can try to keep your data intact. If you don't receive an email from my Xperia, then only a software repair using Xperia Companion remains.
