Z3 and Z5 have a different DAC audio circuitry so don't expect the same. Z3 audio is outstanding whereas Z5 is just mediocre in comparison.

By the way I installed the last MM with a software repair and it works well.

Read this: http://www.head-fi.org/t/779909/sony-xperia-z5-range-audio-quality

Hey guys I'm here today to report this annoying Bug that Sony didn't solve with latest FW build 224. Basically I got my Z5 that is like 8 days old and It had the very first LP, so I had to update with like 7 OTAs. Actually out of the adaptive display color bug, there is a very annoying problem for an audiophile like me: DSEE-HX simply sometimes doesn't work and I must restart my phone to gate it working another time. I didn't try a reset trough Sony PCC becouse I want to be sure that this bound solve the problem. Anyway other audio bugs to report are: AHC takes too much time to turn on with my Sony MDR-EX450 and also when I turn it off the sound a lot, than I plug out and back in headphone jack and the sound is back to normal. Please Sony do something about these stupid bugs, expecially regarding DSEE-HX that works flawlessly on Xperia Z3 with MM 6.0
1 and not on Z5 -.-
