Unknown Icon

Hi, I have a white dot that's appeared in the top left corner of my Z3 Compact. It's not the silent mode icon, as that has a line through it and it's on the right. The one I'm referring (please see photo attached) shows up as Google when you swipe down on the screen, but I cannot swipe it away. Could you please advise?

Hi @AnieKesh,

That looks like a notification of some sort. Can you see what type of notification it is if you swipe down the notification panel?

Hey AnieKesh, I've done some research and thus was actually mentioned a while ago in a Sony Xperia Z question. Apparently that yellow triangle icon means that there was an application/system error. If you swipe down to see the notification, does it say anything?

Hi Didrik thanks for the reply. I've swiped down and it's labelled as Google. I can't swipe it away but I can open it and a page with some settings opens. I still can't see what the source of the icon is. Please see the two screen grabs attached. Thanks.

Sorry about that AnieKesh, my WiFi must have been slow and not loaded your screenshot, do you have DU Battery Saver installed on your phone possibly?

@AnieKesh, alright. I suggest that you try clearing data for the Google app. Go to Settings > Apps > ... > Show system > Google app > Storage > Clear data.

Should that not help in removing this notification I would suggest that you remove your Google-account followed by a restart and logging in again. Go under Settings > Accounts > Google > Your e-mailaddress > ... > Remove. To add it again just go under Settings > Accounts.
