Z2.... A great phone destroyed by software updates

I have to say, I was totally impressed with the Xperia Z2 when I purchased it, quality phone with great features and everything worked........

Now, it's been turned into a pile of poo! new software features have made the basics of the phone rubbish to use, the camera app is just horible to use and pretty usless now, the gyro does not know which way is up down or sideways any longer and Worst of all is that I have to restart the phone EVERY TIME I want to use data services, this is because some programmer has replaced quite functional software , it's no good having pretty features and bells and whistles at the expense of the basics working, just when is anyone going to get that through their thick heads!!

Off to find a phone that works and that I can turn software update OFF!

Welcome to the community.

Automatic firmware updates are turned off by default on Xperia devices, and any installation has to be approved before it is installed. You can change this in Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Options (3 dots) > Settings.

If you are experiencing issues with your phone after a software update, I would recommend running a software repair on your handset.
