changing keyboard and mtp connection problem

hi,

got new E5 recently and run into some problems.

firstly - when trying to change additional keyboard there's only chinese available.

when i go to language and input -> keyboard and input methods -> current keyboard -> more keyboards - there is only chinese one available. i read manual from http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-E5/bd-p/xperia-e5 to no avail. it's only english and chinese. nothing else. it's driving me nuts.

second thing - when i connect phone to the pc - the latter doesn't see it. i've installled Xperia Companion but when i open it the program tells me to connect the device. i do that but it's not detected. but phone is charging. changing between charging only and MTP option does not do a thing to rectify it.

any ideas as to what is the problem? the phone is new.

what if you change the language?

as for the second issue, try different usb ports and cables

changing ports, cables, restarting the device and the pc, reinstalling xperia connect - nothing works so far.

i'll try the language change, but i am sceptical. thnx.
