Device bricked after installing today's system update

Received a notification today of a new system today, clicked on it to install and the device rebooted and started installing it in the boot screen then all of a sudden the update stopped and now all i see is "error" with red triangle and exclamation mark in it.

Now when i attempt to charge it, it keeps rebooting indefinitely and returning to this same "error" screen.

Pressing both (power button and up) for 10 seconds or 3 vibrations does nothing.

Please note that the device was charged with at least 85% and maybe more.

I'm not sure what has been improved in this update, I haven't noticed anything positive yet but I have noticed that my phone isn't as buttery smooth as it was prior to the update. I'm experiencing pauses, jerking and lag.

If any update causes serious issues, perform a repair installation using Xperia companion

Once i connect it to a PC or a charger, it keeps going into indefinite reboot.

I've never faced such issue with a Nexus device and if for whatever reason such thing happened, it can be easily fixed.

I saw an old thread with a similar issue but with Xperia Z or something, it ended he/she having to replace the motherboard of the device which is nonesense and very disappointing.

[Quick Update]

Took the device to the service center of Sony's authorized retailer (in Jordan) and they managed to fix it for me within an hour.

The good thing the device is now back and working without a problem although this problem has started me to question Sony's level of quality and reliability of updates.

The nagative experience that i faced was with the employee at the authorized retailer when i handed him the device to be fixed, he has asked for the device PIN, i told him i cannot share it with him since the device contains critical work data along with personal and finanical information. His 2nd request was even more dumb, he asked for my gmail password, this got me really furious and blew my mind.

If this happens again to me in the future, i am seriously going to consider ditching the phone and never ever consider going back to Sony, I never faced such issue or experience with Google and their Nexus devices.

He probably repaired your phone with XC or a similar software. Without pin and gmail he couldn't reinstall the operating system. It is because android check your identity after a restore of a pin/password protected device.

Wouldn't it been worse if he could simply bypass this security measure and access your data without even you knowing about it?
