oleysa1 I also had that drainage and not charging issue, I bought a quick charger though and now it does charge in a rate the normal charger should.
This is totally unacceptable!!! It's not a hardware issue, this is blatantly a software issue!

What I cannot believ, is that nothing is being done! I contacted Sony support, they told me to take out the SD card, so I did, issue was still there!
I've done a software repair, if done a factory reset, after all those steps, the support member just ignored me and ended the chat.
Wth?
What kind of costumer service is this?
After I had serious display issues on the Z3, I was about leave Sony after sooooo many years, but then the Z5 line showed up. So I gave them another chance.
But after the update to. 253 we are having worse issued that the Z3+ aha Z4 users and it's all down to software 😣

I agree with the heating issue. I was playing Angry Birds 2 an in 4-5 minutes the gameplay became choppy and the phone became hot 😕 (also on .253)

Yes even in simple games and applications, there is an unusual heating.

We know that the Snapdragon 810 is problematic, however I believe the best solution to this problem is the sony limit the maximum clock of it.

About the battery, I believe that the doze google should return... The Stamine mode is not more the same ...

The LG G4 exactly due to the Snap 810 problem, preferred to use the 808 on your phone.

Unfortunately Snap 810 is heated , which damages and battery life .

For me the solution is to make a downclock and Undervolt processor , we would have a small loss of desmpenho .

On the other hand the company take on the problem , many users could legally drive the replacement of the product .

Sony Z5 Premium issue after update to 32.2.A.0.253.

Dear all,

Recently updated to 32.2.A.0.253, My Z5 Premium keep randomly Freezing/Hang and Battery Life Drain very fast. I thought is only my Z5 Premium. I check with few of my friends having Z5 Premium, their phone having same issue. Now Battery Life don't last for 12 hours, about 4-6 hours without using, it drain from 100% to 20%, currently we have to carry our power banks once we hit 0%. The hang and freezes are so random, even restart my phone also occurs. Anyone having the same issue and anyone has any solution on it? Can Sony look onto the firmware? Thank you.

Hi, I updated to 32.2.A.0.253 recently, which ruined my phone completely:

Battery lasts less than 50% of time compared to previous version - at 3pm I have to charge now.. Even normal apps like Twitter make CPU go to overdrive and phone heats.. like a lot...

I appreciate the attempt to bring back the Stamina mode - but it's not what it used to be: on Android 5 and older I could select which functions to disable, no it has its own rules - no better thatn standard Marshnmallow saving mode in Android 6.0 update.

The phone starts nagging me every time batter goes below 30% (which is thank to the upgrade) and I can't even dismiss the notification I have to click it and go to Battery info.. so annoying!

I started looking for ways to legally downgrade firmware back to previous versions, because this is unbearable. Why SONY always has to screw things up - I still can't forgive them they chose plastic instead of metal for Z5 Compact, but software is just too much..

I have the Z5 I was away on holiday when i got the usual notification to update android to latest build so i done the usual made sure phone was charged, on wifi and proceeded to update, after the process noticed the phone was really hot so left it to cool down, when i tried to use my apps later nothing would work properly and it became very hot, tried the usual restart in safe mode, press power and volume to reboot etc so left until i was back today, just done a software repair and it seems to have sorted the phone now but still use it for a few minutes and it gets very warm. I wondered if the actual apps not opening was due to "talkback" being switched on somehow as i had to press the screen first then 2 quick presses to open an app and the vibration was just doing what it wanted to do. Sony really need to sort the over heating bit out though, what happens if this causes damage to the phone eh will we all be covered under warranties I wonder?!

My Z5 Compact gets hot at a much faster rate than before 😕 And this happens while browsing with Chrome or messaging with Whatsapp etc, they're not even CPU/GPU intensive tasks! I know repairing the phone with Xperia Companion would sort this issue out but come on, latest .253 update wasn't even a big update, it was supposed to fix bugs, not create more of them! I am sick of being have to repair the phone each time after even a tiny update you know, I've got loads of apps and registering/logging in for Whatsapp, Viber etc each time is a nightmare!

The headphone socket on my Z5P broke about a month ago. So i have been looking forward to this update for a while as the bluetooth media playback issue was driving me insane (constant pauses and stuttering). Suffice to say that update .253 update seems to have fixed the issue and i can now listen to music via my bluetooth headphones and speakers BUT the phone gets way to hot now. My phone battery went from 100% to 30% in 6 hours with only very light usage (Occasionally checking mails via gmail, web browsing via chrome and twitter).

This is ridiculous. SONY are releasing firmware to go from one issue to another.

For every great hardware poing there are at least two software issues that bring the phone down. I thought I could live with a broken headphone jack IF the Bluetooth issue got fixed, but now with the phone overheting and taking upwards of 6 hours to charge!!! I fear this is my last SONY phone especially with the new nexus just around the corner...
