Network unlocking whos at it???

I have recently decided to leave my current phone provider so i called them to request getting my network unlock code. After a two week wait i recieved my code but upon checking the menu i found my phone has no attempts to input the code. My network provider told me sony would need to reset the attempts as this is the way they received the phone, having no luck emailing sony i called them today only to be told that sony do supply the phone with the attempts on the device and it was my network provider that had removed the attempts befor sending me the phone, upon calling my provider they told me the opposite that the phone must have come from sony without any attempts on it. Someone is talking rubbish either ee or sony, who is it and is there any way to unlock my phone to any network provider. Any help on this woyld be greatly appreciated as iv been getting the run around for 3 weeks now and just want to leave ee!! please help!!!

Haven't tried putting in another sim yet but ee says its locked to their network

Ok go to *#*#service#*#* tap service info then simlock, what do you see there?

Sim 0

But what do you see inside the []

Is it all [0] or [x]?

Have you tried putting in your new sim card....see what screen/message comes up

I haven't signed up to any other provider was waiting to unlock the phone first, il need to pick up a payg sim and stick it in to see what happens

Usually a [x] means that there is a restriction in place, if the brackets are empty I believe your phone is unlocked. Ask a friend to borrow you a nano sim and check, if it works then you are "free"
