I just compared against the E5 demo unit at my local electronics retailer and the vibration seems basically identical. So it seems like this is how it's supposed to be and it's just not strong enough for my taste

Guess I'll have to shop around for Bluetooth notification wristbands...

I usually have my phones set to vibration only so as not to disturb people around me. With my new Xperia E5 I'm having issues with this since the vibration motor in there seems to work exactly opposite to how it's supposed to - meaning that I almost can't feel the vibration at all when the phone is inside my pocket but it's quite audible.

Has someone else also noticed this behavior or have I maybe gotten a bad unit? Is there a way to control the overall vibration intensity?

Hi @sapperlott, sorry to hear about that.

Could you try the vibration in Diagnostics to see if you experience the same? Go to Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Vibration. If it makes much sound but does not actually produce a vibration (slight in your case) then it could be hardware related, but we should have a look on the software side first.

Hi Emir - thanks for pointing out where to find the test procedure. Yes - it's the same there as in regular use. I guess I'll run to the next shop that has an E5 on display and compare to the demo unit there.

That sounds like a great plan! If it isn't too inconvenient it would be best if you could compare it to a different device of the same model. Feel free to let me know how it went once you've done so.

It is true that the vibration intensity depends on the phone model. If you compared to a different E5 and you experienced the same intensity then it likely works as intended.
