Sudden death

My phone had enough battery ˙(below 50%), and i tried to take a photo via the whatsapp app and then the phone froze and the screen turned black, but was still working. I was holding down the power and volume button and after hearing the phone vibrating, i went to get something to eat. Once i returned the phone was dead; couldn't turn it on, no led light when connected to charger, when connecting to pc, it says that the connected usb device has malfunctioned. Has anyone experienced this, and is there a solution i can do from home without taking the phone to service?

the phone also turned off suddenly earlier today, but turned back on by itself. xperia companion doesn't work as my pc doesn't recognize the phone and i tried holding the power and volume buttons

if you can't perform software repair using Xperia Companion, then you need to send your device for repairs ---> Local support
