Based on your suggession, I found that its the USB to go adapter I was using was not connecting any of my USB devices. Currently, none of the micro USB to USB-C adapter works. Instead, I went out to get a USB-A to USB-C adapter, and it works flawlessly.

Many thanks

I have been using USB headphone amp (PHA-3) ever since Z3, but after recently upgrading to XZ, I can no longer connect to the audio device. I have tried many times using detect USB or even restarting the phone. I am just wondering if you have removed USB audio support from the XZ?

I'm sorry to hear that

Support for USB Audio is still there. What happens if you connect another device like a mouse, keyboard or thumb drive with the OTG-adapter you have? Can your phone detect other devices using the same cable?
