was late last night, phone was on a few % and operating perfectly, checked phone for notifications and phone was dead, plugged phone in to charge and didn't think anymore about it, woke up this morning about 7hrs later and went to check phone but there was no response, indicator LED is unresponsive, tried the old POWER + VOL button trick but still nothing, tried 4 different cables including Dualshock controller cable and still nothing. Help as I need phone for work, this kind of might swing me back to Apple

Do they not test these updates properly before they release them? lol It's a joke. Going back to Samsung now. They're good at TV's and the PS4 but not at phones. I'll probably call then up as nothing works and I'll have to send it back

Xperia Z5 dead after software update - don't do it

I did the system update as it stated me to do and now the phone is totally broke. Not just a system reboot needed but totally dead. So the update has ACTUALLY broken the phone. Well done Sony.

Took it to a repair shop and said it's unrepairable so I'll be returning with a complaint letter and new phone required. People avoid the update like the plague.

Yours sincerely a VERY angry long time Sony buyer. Not for much longer.

It's understandable you're annoyed, but your post isn't very helpful. You haven't stated any of the following:

Which model of Z5

Which firmware you upgraded to

Which method of upgrade

Did anything happen during the upgrade

What the symptoms are now

I recently updated my Z5 from 6.0 to 6.0.1 and everything has been fine.

I think it's pretty obvious. It's a Z5 premium. On Saturday or Sunda it asked to install the recent software update. I clicked yes. It started to install it. Then the screen went blank and that's it. Dead. No info as nothing at all works. Not even plugging into a system.

The symptoms are nothing at all works not even the hold power + volume up. It's goosed. Unrepairable it what the man at a repair shop said.

Hi, i need some help and advice please.

I bought my z5 premium in January of 2016 new unsealed through a classified ad. Its been an excellent phone besides the extreme over heating problem it occastionaly has.

Two weeks ago i went to switch the screen on and i received no response even tho its led notification light was blinkin as I had just received a text message. Left it on charge for an hour and came back to it to find it to be completely unresponsive and dead (no led notification) nothing at all. tried everything in this thread and then decided to take it to my buddy at carphone who then said he would send it of for repair. I've today been told that they where unable to repair the phone as there is a tiny dint on the side of the phone (so small i was unaware of it!) this voids the warranty and apparently this is the cause of the fault.

Any suggestions?

Anywhere i can check for my warranty?

thanks
