Xperia m5, phone doesn't recognize headphones.

The phone doesn't recognize my samsung headphones and my sony speakers which is a shame since the phone itself is sony... The headphones that came with the phone work fine btw and both the speakers and headphones work perfectly when connected to other devices. Can I fix this problem somehow?

Which speakers are you trying to use?

Are the headphones CTIA or OMTP?

does the phone show any warning or notification when you connect it with the accessories? like "accesory not supported"
