Screen turns off automatically during a call

Hi guys,

I am using a glass protector on my X Performance and it works totally fine before.

However, I replaced a new one on my phone on yesterday. After that, when I was making a call or listening to vioce message on Whatsapp etc, the phone will turn off the screen automatically (no matter I put the phone near my ear or not).

I tried to remove the protector and make a call again, it became working fine again (when I put the phone near my ear, the screen turns off; when I pull off, it turns on again). I also tried to put the glass protector above the detector (on the right side of the upper speaker and SONY logo), every single time I used the protector to block the detector, the screen will turn off itself...

Thus I can't end the call by myself (if I listen to any spam call) lol

I will try another protector later but I would like to know what's the problem lol

There's nothing wrong with your phone, you need a different protector that doesn't cover the proximity sensor.
