GMail - Predictive Word

Not sure where to start to look for this problem – hopefully I’ve explained it right

I have a Sony Z5 Compact

For some reason when I use Gmail and write an email the predictive next word feature no longer works – I.e when you finish typing one word, it suggests what the next word will be. (The feature to predict the word I am typing still works – for example if I start typing “He” it will suggest He or Hello etc)

The feature is still there on other applications such as Text Message, Messenger, email etc but for some reason it has disappeared from Gmail.

I’ve looked at the settings for both the phone and gmail but nothing stands out

Phone has been restarted several times and I have not altered any settings or installed anything new on the phone to make it stop working

Any ideas?

I dont think so

I've just installed swiftkeyboard after reading that post and I now I do get the next predictive word feature in Gmail

Would have prefered to fix my current keyboard but it will do for now
