Z1 battery draining rapid

My sons z1 is draining rapid. For example ive been trying to get it into safe mode. It was 68%, restarted phone it was 37%, restarted again and its now at 18% in the matter of minutes, simply by rebooting it? This happens when the phone is on aswell, even when its not in use. Iv disabled background apps to see if it helped but it doesnt.

I cant get onto safe mode either. When i hold power button and volume down the start up " SONY" logo just repeats on a loop.

Ive updated apps, software is up to date (14.6.A.1.236) andriod version 5.1.1.

Also when it finally runs out of power and i plug the charger in, it will charge to roughly 10% then jumps up to over 50-60%?

Hi @Jemma1,

I am sorry to hear about that.

I suggest that you try calibrating the battery in your Z1, it may be the case that it isn't read correctly by the system. Try to discharge the battery fully or wait until it indicates a low percentage (about 1-5%), then turn it off using the "OFF"-button next to your SIM. Now charge it fully while it's turned off before starting your device.

If you still experience the battery dropping suddenly, I suggest that you try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion.

My Sony Xperia z1 battery draining tooo fast. After a year it is coming only for 2 hours. And it become o% from 30%-50%in no time. And it heating too much. Wt to do please help me.

i am facing the same issue...

phone shuts down even at 95% level. These levels vary haphardly.

When i start charging it again, it starts charging from a random level. (Say 47%)

At the same time, charging takes place very fast ...for eg. 1% per 3secs

I tried everything...baterry recalibration, software repair...still the same

What did you do ?
