@Jon_2,

I don't know much about carriers in Norway, but if Telnor is the main one it could potentially explain some of this. Generally, each carrier gets their own version of the firmware. If the phone is unlocked but purchased from a carrier, they will still get the carrier firmware. If you are all running Telnor's firmware and are all experiencing this issue, it would seem to be connected. I am not sure if this is the case or not for your colleagues, but I have not come across this issue in other regions.

If the issue has not been resolved by the "Fix internet" text, try manually configuring the APNs under Settings > More > Mobile Networks > APNs.

Failling all of that I would recommend re-installing the firmware with a software repair using Xperia Companion.

Same with my Z5 Compact...actually it's also having problems connecting to a mobile data network, calling/receiving phone calls, sending MMS/SMS. All at random. Suddenly it works, shortly after, it fails again. After restarting the phone and waiting for a while (how long it takes appears to be random), I can make a phone call, and then suddenly messages from apps using mobile data and MMS/SMS starts coming in for a while.

Two of my colleagues with the same model, have the same issues with their phones, so it is not a problem with the SIM-card. This started immediately after updating the phone.

I believe this thread covers the problem(s) (I am testing things as I write, so I cannot confirm):

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z5-Z5-Compact-Z5-Premium/No-mobile-data-after-upgrading-Z5-Compact-to-32-2-A-0-305/td-p/1167420

Looking at the thread you posted it seems related to Telnor in Norway. Are your colleagues on the same network as you? Are you on Telnor?

Hi CameronT,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I am using Telenor. One of my mentioned colleagues is on the same network, but the other one I mentioned + one additional individual I have talked to since yesterday, are on different networks.

I can add that colleagues on the same network as me, with different phone models, have not experienced any problems, so I have to say that I suspect that this issue is related to the latest update for Z5 Compact.

I ran a "network fix" as described in the other thread, and things are working somewhat better. However, my phone is still struggling with its connection, and it seems like it happens everytime I leave a Wifi-zone.

When this happens, I can make it connect again by turning off 4G+/4G/3G and connect using only GSM. When connected again, I can turn on 3G, wait for it to connect, then turn on 4G and it works fine. The 4G signal is noticeably weaker than before the phone update.
