Hello.

I upgraded to Marshmallow today and I like it so far. One thing I've noticed is that my Wifi isn't turning off when the phone is locked and in sleep mode like it used to in Lollipop. In my phone settings, 'Keep Wifi on during sleep' is set to 'NEVER' – and yet it's staying active. Why is this? It's draining my battery unnecessarily.

I already have that disabled. Wifi still remains on. There's clearly something wrong in Marshmallow that's allowing it to stay on despite it being set to never.

Sorry, I've just spotted your safe mode suggestion. I'm in Safe Mode now and it's still active. In Lollipop, whenever the phone was in sleep, Wifi would turn off. Then when I used the device, Wifi would come back on after a few seconds. In Marshmallow, it's staying on all the time.

Hello again.

I followed the steps you suggested (disabling mobile data, disabling screen and emailing myself). After I locked the screen, I waited two minutes and used my laptop to send an email to myself. Sure enough, the email notification came through to my phone despite Keep Wifi on during sleep being set to never and Wifi scanning being set to off. I repeated this three times to make sure: same result each time. I can't be the only one whose Wifi is staying on all the time, surely. This never used to happen on Lollipop. It's not a huge battery drain, but it's one that shouldn't be happening because my settings are all set to stop this from happening. Wifi should not remain on while my phone is asleep. This seems like a bug to me.
