Using the same power adapter, MHL adapters (tried 2), HDMI cables, and TV I tried to connect my new Z3 D6653 to my TV to watch YouTube and some other video/game based content. Using this equipment I am able to connect my Z2 Tablet and was able to connect my ZL.

However, when I plugged it in my Z3 it didn't recognize that I plugged in anything at all. It didn't even recognize that a charger was plugged in. On the TV side it new that an MHL cable was plugged in.

Is this a common issue? I don't know if the phone could before any updates because I always update my devices to the newest firmware once available.

I used different USB cables for the charger, and 2 different charging bricks (both of which were sony)

I saw a video on YouTube where right when he connected the MHL device (without anything else connected) the device knew what had been connected.

I also ran the diagnostic test and was also unable to change video formats, which according to the community manager @Rickard was indicative of a hardware problem. This is the 2nd z3 this has happened to me with. Again, same set up works with Z2 Tablet Verizon and ZL
