Z2 Doesn'T Charge,Drops Charge

When i put my Z2 to charge,the led light is red and charging indicator is moving.But after a while it stops.Stays suspended on whatever percentage it was on.
Once it got up tp 70%..then dropped to 40 something %.

When it doesn't charge,i fiddle with the cable and it starts charging.
I haven't repaired the phone yet cause it's relatively new..a year and a half ish of use.
And the repair cost is 1/4th the CP.
I emailed Sony asking how this happened..no reply.
A phone call with a sony customer care guy went nowhere.
So not knowing why this happened im using an old phone atm.

Anyone else have a similar problem with the Z2?
Anything i can do besides repair?

Edit*They told me what happened - A problem with the Circuits/Motherboard and Battery.
But not why/how

There's nothing to suggest here as its a hardware issue not software.
