Device lost

My device is lost. Already given complaint to local police station. But need your help to locate the device if it is online. Please help in this. Now the device is in switched off state.
Is there is a way the thief can go past the lock screen (for which i have a pattern lock) and access my data and reflash this? Then am I able to trace this?? Whether Sony will be able to trace in this case if any time the device becomes online?

Only if somehow mobile data and location are active so you can track it using google device manager or myxperia. But if he flashes your device, he has the option to remove any kind of lock.

Hi Alexdon and Jake thanks for the response. I already tired with myXperia and adroid device manager. These are not working since the device seems to be switched off or not connected to data. Please tell if there is a way the thief can unlock or flash the device in any case, without knowing the pattern. If he is using thru the boot loader, think he needs to acces the key from Sony by entering the IMEI no. But can Sony restict this and will be able to track the device ?

He can remove the pattern by performing a software repair unfortunately. You should contact your Local support and see if they can suggest you something else.

This software repair can be done from any PC or they need to visit a service center to do that.

Bad News for me.

In that case if they do this and use the device then the IMEI nos. will be same but after that they flash it then the IMEI no.s can be changed. In that case I dont have any chance of getting back the device.

Thanks for your concern. But just want to know if now I am going to buy a new phone, there is any thing I can do to make sure, the theives will not be able to use my phone or unlock it.

M4 aqua has the new myxperia feature, that will lock the device:

This can only apply if you have enabled the feature.

This is not much helpful since it like android device manager, which needs data to be enabled.

So I think there is not much to be done.
