My contacts' postcodes are being mangled. For example someone who has the postcode "G13 4AN" displays as "G87134NAN". If I open it to edit the postcode is miraculously OK and if I click on the 'maps' link it goes to the right location. So clearly it's being stored just fine, and only displayed badly.

This is a royal pain as I use these addresses regularly to send items by post and every time I want to do so I have to edit the **bleep**' things. Not happy. Has anyone else experienced this and can they advise how to fix it?

Welcome to the community.

I can't seem to replicate this issue on my device. Can you please try add a new contact (Just a fake one with fake details but a real post code) and post screen shots of what is happening?

My post codes are also being mangled all post codes having characters added eg postcode entered as OL4 2NP is stored asOL88,42NNP selecting edit then shows it correctly. Deleting and reentering saves it as before incorrectly

Check the link I posted above. It also mentions similar behaviour with the postal code like the one you are experiencing.

Christofer,

those problems are similar in broad terms, but not identical. However it's quite plausible that they could have the same root cause. You've said of the other problems that "a fix will be integrated into the next software release". Do you anticipate that this will fix the postcode probem? And when will that release be issued?

Thanks

Paul

They seem to be connected so I'd suggest that you await the coming update first and foremost.

Feel free to report back here if the update does not help with this.

I'm afraid I don't have any information on when the next update is planned to be released.

I have just purchased an Xperia M4 and find that I am having thesame problem as highlighted here - postcodes are mangled in view but are actually fine in edit.

The problem seems to be realted to the length of the post code - if is six caracters only (no spaces) it views correctly, but if is 7 caracters e.g BB236BB or BB2 6BB then it adds into the code other numbers to show a mangled view.

I have 300+ entries in my address book and this is a real problem - frankly I would not have the 'phone if I knew about this problem.

When is a fix due...?

Based on your account it seems that you are located in the same country as PaulCoyne. Update availability is something that varies depending on country and/or operator so I'm afraid I can't say when the next update will be released.
