Touchscreen random selection

My phone keeps randomly selecting stuff on the screen even when locked.
I literally can't use it without it glitching
Tried rebooting, factory settings
All the same.
It gets really bad

Does it even switches on by itself?

Probably a hardware problem inside the digitizer touch screen stuffs.

The best choice you could have now is to bring you phone to the nearest Sony Xperia Center for assessment by authorised technicians.

Have you ever put your phone underwater or immerse it?
Can it still detect touches from your finger?
And lastly is there any yellow spots in your display screen(it is most easily spotted on white displays)?

The phone is meant to be waterproof but no, I didn't put it under water.
Yes, it detects my touch
No yellow spots

Probably the touch screen was somehow damaged.

Looks like we need to wait for a reply from Sony Xperia staffs

Hello, I've noticed that my Z2 will occasionally react as if I have pressed something on the screen without actually having touched the screen at all.
It's more of an annoyance than anything else but I've learned to hold the phone in a certain way to avoid this problem.

that happens when your fingers are close enough to the screen. Like glove mode switched on,the touch will be registered even when glove mode was off.

Probably a software glitch somewhere but doesnt affect much of its performance

Have you tried software repair?

Download and install Sony PC Companion to your PC > Connect your phone to PC > On PC tap on Software Update > Tap on a blue lined "Repair my phone/tablet"

Wait for a while as it repairs the software
