I have done a lot of research in trying to fix this but I really dont know anymore.

I bought my Xperia Z3+ over newegg just a couple weeks ago.

However with the auto brightness turned off the screen still reduces its brightness. It seemingly does not care what is on the screen and it will do this on a purely white screen.

It dims slightly and then rebrightens. It does this not quickly but the transition from bright to dim is over a second but it only does it every 10-30 seconds.

I dont notice it as bad when im in a bright room but at night in bed with the lights off I can very easly see the difference. Whites become a slight gray and then becomes actually white and brighter.

As far as I can tell this is optimized Backlight also called CABL but the option was removed from all Xperia phones at some point to turn this function off.

So this is my question...is this phone broken? Is this normal? if this is normal does sony have any plans at all to have it removed or give the choice to have it on?
