Hello! I have had an Xperia Z1 for about a year and a month now, and sometime around this Christmas I had to replace the touch screen (twice) and the back glass (once) because they had cracked.

I am still having issues with the touch screen, as it becomes unresponsive daily and I have to do a soft reset each time to get the phone to register my touch commands again (it works fine while connecting a mouse to it). It also distorts the text on various applications, making it sort of italic and fuzzy - this is also a display problem, since if I try to take a screenshot of the phenomenon the text is fine. I cannot find anything common between the times the screen malfunctions (not low battery, full RAM, overheating, malware, etc.)

I am looking for a more permanent fix to these issues than a daily soft reset. I should mention that the phone was bought second-hand and the screen changed at the place I bought it from originally (the screen it had then was working relatively better, with no freezing). If anybody has experienced this before and would have some suggestions I would appreciate it very much!

Hi,

To me, this sounds more related to the hardware. But have you tried any troubleshooting such as using the phone in safe mode or perhaps performed a software repair using PC Companion?
