M4 Aqua Multiple Issues: Camera doesn't work,Mic Doesn't work during calls,Phone heats up too much.

I bought M4 aqua 5 moths back and it gave heating issue the very next day. After using it for 2 months I started getting camera error. I could live without camera but now I am not even able to make calls as the mic doesnt work. I mean what a crap sony has designed this time. I used to be a xperia fan and used xperia SP for quite a long time. This M4 is such a disappointment I'll make sure this is my last xperia phone.

Already tried- Safe Mode, Resetting phone.

Welcome to the community.

You mention you have already tried it in safe mode, I will assume the same issues occur there too?

Can you please try running a software repair and see if the issues persist?

Yes, even in safe mode mic n camera doesnt work. Both are intermittent but 90% of the times they dont work.

@CameronT I tried factory reset. And I read other threads regarding the same issue as well, and its clear thats it is a hardware issue. None of these solutions worked for other people having the same issues, you want me to give it a try and spend time over something thats not gonna work?

The M4 microphone issue is a common fault with this handset. This forum should have a sticky guide at the top of the forum to help owners with this problem rather than trickle the same old "have you tried running it in safe mode" without any follow up.

There are several reasons this fault occurs:

Third Party Apps

OS Corrupt

Sony's Xperia interface conflicting with Android.

Hardware.

Finding the third party app is trial and error. Running it in safe mode will help diagnose to whether a third party app is causing the problem, then it's trial and error to find out which one it is when you come out of safe mode. If this doesn't work, try restoring the OS through Sony PC Companion.

If it's the latter two, then it's in Sony's hands. A lot of M4 owners have been waiting on Sony to throw out a software fix for months, hoping either a patch or an update to the forever delayed Marshmallow will fix it.

Tried software repair Using PC Companion, still the issue persist (Camera as well as Mic). Wasted around 2 hours for the same knowing its not gonna work, its a hardware issue in most of the m4 aqua units.

Dont you guys maintain any follow ups, whatever issue comes from the user just shoot out SAFE MODE/Software reset instead of looking into the freequency at which users are reporting the problems.

Have a look at your forum its full of such complaints! everyone is reporting the same thing. Request you to initiate a refund as I dont even want any M4 as a replacement.

I'm currently undergoing the very same issues, all of which appeared in exaclty the same order as described by interactSachin. Has anyone reached a solution?
