topic XPERIA Z5 Dual E6633 Flaws and Missing Important Features in XPERIA archive

Hello Sony Mobile Team,

I bought XPERIA Z5 Dual E6633 few days ago and I thought that I bought the best phone in the world and I found the the design is amazing and the material is stunning but after checking phone's settings and apps I found some flaws and missing features and I am sure that a lot of users are missing these features too and they will be more satisfied if you can apply these features through updates...

1- The keyboard is not comfortable at all comparing it with other devices' keyboard like Samsung, LG and Apple and you can try this yourselves and check out that some other keyboards are much better then yours and the Arabic language is not designed/alligned well as there are some letters on another page and it will be better if we can get them by long press on the related letters on the main screen of the keyboard. Moreover, we should be able to customize its size as after adding the numbers row it becomes so big on the screen.

2- There is no call alerts for call connecting and disconnecting like a vibrate which is a very important and healthy feature and sometimes while calling the screen stuck on black and light on after call disconnecting by few seconds and it is not a sensor problem as it is not happening all the time.

3- The bottom speaker is always lower than the top one and I don't think that there is a valid reason for that and if you have an explanation for that so please correct me.

4- Quick charge feature is not working even after I bought UCH10 Charger... Sometimes I feel it is working but it shouldn't be by feeling as you said 60% in 30 min and it is not going like this "I know that it is from 0 to 60 not from 20 to 80 for example".

5- The toggles on the notification bar should be much effective and a little more by adding some more toggles and enable the feature of long press to get into the related settings directly "For example: Long press on WiFi should direct me to WiFi settings".

6- Album, Video and Music apps need some small modifications like default view/screen should be from my choice not yours as I am one of the people who likes the default screen to be folders not all contents... About the Video app, it is reading the main folder of the videos and not the sub folders which is very weird.

7- Guest user can't be removed/deleted and it uses storage and memory and it is not mandatory so please add the option to remove/delete it.

8- The favourite contacts on the dialer app can't be remove unless I remove all the logs of the contact that I want to delete from the call log so you better add the option to delete the favourite contacts from the call log or remove this feature at all as we already have favourite section on contacts.

9- Pages of the home and apps screen should be more editable like moving pages with its content from right to left or vise verse, adding colors to folders will be a good idea too, adding the feature of hidding apps will be a good thing too and at last adding options for numbers of rows and columns will be amazing.

Thats all till now and I am not requesting you to customize or do these things for me... I am just a user who is not satisfied about your product and I wanted to say why I am not... I know that most of these things or all of them can be handled via updates and I am pretty sure that a lot of users will ask for the same and even if they are satisfied, they will be more satisfied and they will tell their friends about their experience with Sony as well.

Please consider these things on the next updates and you will see the difference yourselves.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Ahmed Atef

Good Morning to You ALL !

This is our big day

Our most expected day

Android 6 MM has landed on our Xperia Z5

FW is 32.1.A.1.163, so it contains a lot of bugfixes with introduction of MM 6 Android

Right now, is rolling for different models and on different countries so in few hours, or in one or two day, it will be on your phone, unless u're on a branded-operator phone where u should wait more days to come

So, 7th March was right as we expected based on TWITTER INFO by Sony Xperia GB

More news to come !

Unfortunately it's 6.0 not 6.0.1....

And the Z5 gets the update before the Premium.... the irony

Performance is something I noticed straight away it's very responsive and fast. Too early to comment on battery life. No stamina mode which is kinda ridiculous but apparently it's coming back in future updates, overall it's an ok upgrade all the changes are more under the hood as the Ui is same and settings menu pretty much the same. Slightly different battery icon when u turn percentage off.

So far so good for me:

-The phone feels WAY faster and snappier

-UI lag and slowdowns = 99% gone. (Thanks God!!!)

-Auto-brightness bug is FINALLY fixed. That thing was so irritating

-Bluetooth issues (connection dropping every ~10 minutes or so in my car) are gone

-I miss the good old Lollipop Volume Panel with the "Do not disturb" settings. I wish we got the 6.0.1 panel

-Fingerprint scanner works WAY WAY WAY better now, thanks to Google's official API (I guess?)

-Thanks, you included the latest February security fixes!

-Visually, everything is virtually identical

-Same old camera app with no Camera2 API and advanced manual settings. That's a dissapointement

-Animations in general are faster, am I right?

I expected more new stuff in the UI depatment but well, at least we have a firmware that is worthy of the Z5, and the most annoying bugs are fixed!

Stamina Mode is missing for now, but well... I guess it's not that bad IF Doze gets the job done.

What I'd like to see in the coming months:

-6.0.1 with the new Volume panel

-The new UI/icons we saw in the Xperia X videos

-My hopes are low on that one but... the new Xperia X camera app with adaptative focus, more Manual controls / Camera2 API

That update won't revolutionize anything, but at least my Z5 now works as it should have since day 1! The UI lag was unberable on a device that powerful, coming from a slower OnePlus One that had NO UI lag at all.

Good job Sony, but keep the updates coming. 6.0.1 would be a pretty good first step

SIM free Z5 compact in UK, nothing yet OTA or via PC Companion. Is there any way we can force up update? I can't wait for the lag to go, and the discolouration to go too!

I couldn't agree more. So far my Z5P has been nothing but a chore to use. Laggy interface, non-working fingerprint scanner (no matter what I do) and extreme heat.

I'm in Sweden so hopefully we should both receive the update at the same time-ish.
