Have been told to download all photos and videos from the phone, before sending off to get the screen fixed. Was told that the phone would automatically download once plugged into a laptop/pc. The laptop keeps saying that there is no data on the phone?!? We cannot use/access the menu due to the screen being cracked. Advice needed please.

The computer won't automatically download your data. If the screen still works you can use a USB OTG cable and connect a mouse

I understand, my suggestion was assuming that maybe the digitizer was cracked but not the LCD, with that said, if the phone had a pin lock/password/pattern lock you won't have access to the files on the internal storage

There's a lot of people who have replied to such post, just like if you search the same but with iphone, LG, samsung, etc. cracked screens its the number one repair on smartphones, of course its a lot easier for a user to say, oh my phone self cracked instead of saying I dropped the phone and it cracked, warranty wouldn't covered the later, unless you have damage protection insurance, with that said, you don't have to convince me or anyone, you can search the forum around and you will see when users have uploaded their pictures, you can see the point of impact. this is a user based forum, just stay in contact with your Local support

I dropped my previous z3 with no cover and paid £260 for a new screen my own stupidity, so wen I got it back I bought the best z3 cover money can buy and a screen protector to eliminate this problem. I never once dropped it or damaged it truthfully, The device was overheating 2 days prior to the crack could this not of caused stress to the device?? Money is irrelevant to me and I could replace this device in a second, I just want answers because this is no fault of my own.
