hi all, my z2 has a camera problem. initially worked fine , then stopped taking photos - they show as broken files and can't be opened. I factory reset the phone and the camera worked for one day. it then stopped taking photos - when you take a pic, it shows the little orange circle going round and round , but then doesn't store the photo. Yesterday I cleared the cache and this appeared to make it work. The camera now takes photos, but I cannot message or bluetooth them - just says could not add item. I tried to transfer them to my computer , via usb and they all show as broken files , but with the .jpg extension , so not the lost.dir problem. Finding this pretty frustrating. If anyone can offer any solutions , or tell me a bette camer to download thru playstore that works well I would appreciate it.

I've seen that issue before and for the most part it could be a faulty SD card.

Settings > storage > SD card > unmount it > settings > apps > all > camera > clear data > remove the SD Card > restart the phone > check again.

sadly not the answer uniwooly. still wont let me transfer or message the pics and on the computer when you try to open the .jpg file it says cant open - corrupt ,damaged or too large to open

will amend that uniwooly and say that i just took a picture and added to a message and it worked, and that photo will open on the computer , but the others i have taken (of a newborn) won't so not sure how to transfer them to a position where i can open them....

try my suggestion and take new pictures, if you don't experience the same issue then the SD card has corrupted the files.

I'm sorry to hear that, it does seem that the SD card corrupted the files.

if you are saving them on an SD card the SD card might be corrupted
