There's a guy who owns a single sim variant and got over 2000mA charge rate, while I own a dual sim one and only got 1556mA at maximum. Both we use QC 2.0 charger (mine has 18W 9V-2A) but we don't share the same result. Can you explain for me, Sony? Is dual sim the problem? Left side is E6653 and right side is mine.

By looking at the pictures I can see temperature differences your friends was on 31.2 and yours between 35 and 38 maybe it's to prevent the device from getting too hot. I could be wrong but I think the charge rate may depend on temperatures

Do you use the exact same charger? There might be some 3rd party app that could limit your current, you also need to consider that as the device heats up, the current is limited to avoid any damage to the battery and device.

Just wanted to add that if there's not enough current via USB on PC, the device may appear to charge but never connect for data

(Intermittent)

Edit this was on 5.1, not Marshmallow. So with the new Marshmallow update allowing users to select what type of connectivity they want - there may be more/less similar bugs

@92 My device even didn't go over 1.5A when it's cool (below 30 celcius), and the throttle threshold of battery is about 50-55 celcius so at that temperature the device should get the maximum charge rate

@alexdon My fail, I editted, IDK what charger did he use but it should be one with QC 2.0 certificated and mine too, and both of them give 18W.

I have one (from Itian) and I paid about 12 euros for it, I did get 2.2-2.3 A in output but it also heats up the device.

My charger can give 5V-2A at regular charge (blue led) and 9V-2A at QC 2.0 (green led) so the limitation should be caused by kernel setting, both LP and MM share the same issue.

@RyTek

I'm sure that they know some issue exists. But they will not acknowledge. Denial. Eventually they will make you believe that those are Z5 dual's design limitations. They will also not have any bench marks to compare agains't to check if our devices are within limits.

And worst of all, they official Sony rep doesn't respond on these threads. Even if they do, they follow the below algorithm:

1. I think you are not using quick charge.

2. I think you are running back groud applications

3. I think the power socket is not working

4. could be problem with cable
5. could be software issue-reinstall os.

6. take to sony service center

7. I think your device is hot.

8. Weak signal and heating due to that

For god sake, if a user is coming over to blog and typing some observation, they would have definitely checked all of the above and post here only if they are unable to resolve. I feel that this blog is just provides a false hope for solutions. Will not get any solutions and most of the people who respond are other users with minimal knowledge.
