Xperia Z3 USB Device not recognised (device descriptor request failed)

I'm having issues connecting my Z3 to any PC, it also doesn't recognise an OTG cable. It charges fine, debugging etc. have been enabled, they tried it in the vodafone shop and it worked. I got home and the first time I connected it to my PC it worked but since then it fails to recognise the device. I've tried uninstalling usb in device manager, reinstalling sony pc ompanion, repairing via pc companion, factory rest (it worked briefly before returning to being unrecognised). There's something seriously wrong with it, I don't believe it is my PC, it does the same thing at work. I did suspect a faulty micro usb connector - but if that was the case why would it work on the rare occasion it does?

Help please!!!

since you already tried resetting and repairing the software it might be a hardware problem. have your phone checked at your local service center,.: http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/
