That's odd - in my Z3 Compact the sum fits almost perfectly with the number of free GB's displayed.

I'm a little bit running out of ideas now - except the well known suggestion to make a clean reinstall of the OS. But I guess you are as reluctant to wipe all your data this as I were in your situation.

If you are lucky to have a file browser app that is able to 1) show hidden files and 2) sort folders by the size of their contents you could manually look through the internal storage area and try to identify where the missing GB's are lost. (The "file commander" that came with your phone can do this, but only after upgrade to the pro version :smileysad:).

And don't be fooled by the two big files in the DCIM/.thumbnails folder, they use far less memory as they indicate.

So my phone says I have 600 mb of free space in my Internal memory. However, when you see the picture or whatever it is ( I wish i could post it here but I don't see an option) on the top when you enter settings-->storage you can clearly see that more than half of the line is free...Also when you combine all those different parts of your memory apps, pictures and videos, downloads etc it doesn't add up to more than 4 gb of used space. I'm really not sure what's the problem here but I've noticed this problem long time ago when I had 2 gb free. It's like something is draining my internal memory, god that sounds stupid but I really don't know. Oh and I use 16 gb sd card and always transfer anything if it can be transferred. And I clear the cache regularly, I have clean master but I'm not sure if that app is helping at all. Thanks

I know I can go to settings -->apps and enter each one of them and there it says app on the device and app on the sd card. I'm not sure if it's exactly like this cause mine is in a different language.

If I understood you correctly then you have about 4GB's worth of apps but your phone says that your apps take up 10GB? Where in your phone does it say that your apps take up 10GB? How much memory is available under Settings > Storage?

If you look under Settings > Storage > Internal storage > Apps > Sort by size, is there anything here that really stands out?
