It is a 6 months old mobile. It went under water for the first time and gone dead!. When I charge it on the LED is blinking , it is red. The phone is under warranty. Will the piece be replaced ?Any idea? Is underwater warranty by Sony a story or true? If it is true the mobile has to be replaced since warranty cover is available.

It is really so unfortunate that the service engineers do not actually know what they're repairing.They've recieved the mobile and without bothering to inquire the date of purchase have simply mentioned that the product is "out of warranty".Ultimaltely they have sent me an invoice of Rs.26,713.00, stating that all the mentioned parts in the invoice have to be replaced. I have purchased the mobile with a passion for SONY (earlier i had an Xperia Ray-Sony Ericsson) for Rs.35,500.00 and now I can purchase another couple of Sony M4 Aqua , or a couple of Moto G 3rd gen mobiles for the price of the repairs mentioned.

All I want to know is whether the SONY XPERIA Z3 COMPACT WILL BE REPLACED OR NOT. THE WARRANTY PERIOD IS STILL VALID - IF YES WHOM SHOULD I CONACT? - IF NO - THE REASON. I do not have time to run around the service engineers after putting in so much of money for the mobile.It shall be appreciated If the mobile is replaced as it is under warranty and I am sorry for not mentioning the reason for repairs as given by your service engineers report as there is no such reason mentioned.

@mj2k

I double checked all the side covers for any opening and found nothing of that sort and I took it underwater in a private owned Swimming pool. Obviously there is no salt water and the mobile was only less than 2 feet underwater and for hardly less than a couple of minutes - DAMAGE DONE.

I'm sorry to hear that your phone wasn't covered by warranty. I can unfortunately not see any information for your case but if the authorised service center came to the conclusion that your phone wasn't covered by our warranty they should also be able to tell you why. I'm afraid I can only suggest that you contact them again and ask for more information.
