Hi,I got sony z5 US version from B & H Photo Video but I didnt find seal tape on z5 box.So I dont know whether it s opened or new one . whether you guys got it?

Every region has different package contents
basically the contents should include the following
1, the phone

2. usb cable

3 charger adapter

4. some documents (quick start, sar, warranty info)

5. headset (though i heard some regions doesn't have one)

you can check the IMEI info in your device and match it the sticker outside the box to see if it matches

my box didn't also have seal tape when I got it. but i saw the saleslady take it from their stockroom. and not one box has a tape on it. (sony mobile store HK)

Welcome to the community,

Not all devices have a seal on the box, this is generally related to the packaging the vendor requested upon agreement to sell the product.

However you are best to check with the place of purchase and with Sony Mobile within your region.

Mine came with the usb cable only. There wasn't even the charger but the box was sealed.

Bought from Sony, shipped by Amazon.

Hi Bhonder,

That does seem odd, as every box is weighed before it is released to a vendor. I suggest that you contact them directly to clarify about that situation.

@Bhonder @Jake-SonyXperiaSupport when i purchased my Z5 (O2 UK) it also came with no charger, sticker on the box informs you of this saying 'There's no charger in this box. See how we're helping our planet at o2.co.uk/thinkbig/charger'......my guess is it is to encourage you to use a USB outlet on your computer or perhaps a charger, preferably Sony, that you have lying around :smileysmileythumbsup:

I see, so this would be carrier requested. In that case speaking with them directly may hold better results, although it is still a good idea to contact Customer Care to.

Sony Italy to says that they want to save the planet.
Or you could pay 20€ and buy their brand new quickcharger They want to male money, not save the world.

Anyway, for 600 € they could do more. Z3c came with everything, even the otg cable.

@Bhonder If your household is like mine.....you will have numerous different chargers/USB cables lying around from various obsolete mobiles, i still had a brand new charger/cable from a Z2 so am using that tho like you i would have preferred a brand new set incase there are slight power output differences etc.

But every network carrier is different & offer different items :smileysmileythumbsup:

I agree. By the way, coming from old Nokia phones, we had no usb-usb chargers, so we had to buy one for z5 because the other one was my wife's.

We Come from a long story of old Nokia phones so I had to buy a charger because the other only one was her z3c's.

Sure you can use a computer to charge, but you have let it run, so green company concept still lacks.

Earphones too don't stand forever, so a new pair in the package goes to substitute the worned out ones.

Simply put, Sony decided to cut the losses cutting the package content. They also had claimed the highest profitability per unit sold, just to give the idea.

Anyway I knew that before buy this terminal so I am not complaining, just noticing this kind of policy.

@Bhonder It's not Sony & not only the Z5 models...as mentioned earlier in this thread it is basically network provider/regions that have different contents, i remember a while back with the Z2s.....some people got noise cancelling headphones, some didn't...some even got a case in the box etc....but glad you got it sorted out in the end but a pity you had to spend extra on a charger which in my opinion should be in every package :smileysmileywink:
