4K video recording?

I just saw some videos from MWC, and I noticed that there is no 4K mode/app in camera apps menu.

So Xperia X/X Performance will not have 4K recording?

I also noticed that there is no AR Mask app in apps menu.

I have watched some hands on reviews as well, no AR app but it doesn't mean it won't have the option.

Check down at applications, AR effect is listed. Not sure about 4K.

It states in the detailed specs.
Video recording at full HD (1080p)
Seems strange, but maybe 4k is reserved for Z series?
All guess work at the moment.

@Viridis That's true and looking at all the specs available, they don't match. So we have to be ok with what we have for now.

According to the specs it only says full HD recording. If you read the specs of the Z5 and Z5 Premium it says 4k video recording.

The main camera in Xperia X and Xperia X Performance does not support 4K video recording.

Rickard, do u think that's a good move to remove 4K ?

Or you think, pershaps, that's a prerogative for a phone with a 4K display just as Z5Premium ?

Do you think that in Sony have thinked about this for removing 4K ?

Because S820 supports fully 4K and you're doing 4K videos since Xperia Z2.

Well, considering that Xperia Z is going to be discontinue and that X is going to be a totally different new line, I won't be surprised that Sony will keep updating the C line with a better camera experience and 4k video recording.

I wanted to ask this since long time ago, Rickard.. Is it possible that the C Serie stands for Camera?

Thank you Rickard, for sure it doesn't stand for compact, considering the size of the C5 ultra

I guess the whole 4K thing was a huge flop.

Sony hyped up the 4K display in the Z5P to attract consumers. It was the Z5 Premium's main selling point but I guess it wasnt' a success because Sony has apparently decided to scrap 4K not only in the display but also in the camera. Really Sony your flagship only records in 1080P? Just wow, sorry that I'm complaining but I'm jus a little disappointed.

sad Gsmarena confirmed no 4K on X but they listed 4K for X performance but i cant seem to find anything which supports that it has 4K. I was so much waiting for the new xperia now i will have to scrap the plan, lets hope they do it by software upgrade..a flaghip with SD820 lacking 4K? Seriously Sony?
