Thanks for the reply Alex it is the proximity sensor that is flashing and i was just wondering if it is normal for the mobile to do this or if it was something i should look into.

I have had my Sony Xperia E1 for quite just over a year and i have noticed in the last few months that the proximity senor (not the secondary microphone as i first thourght) seems to be constantly flashing red (although only visable in a dark room, when look directly at the phone) i thourght it might have been to do with the 'Ok Google' voice command but just thourght i would find out if it could be something else

Thanks,

Mike

There is no secondary mic on the front. The secondary mic is on the back of the device as far as I know, above the camera.

Are you talking about the proximity sensor or light sensor?

The red faint from proximity sensor means it is active, but I think it should be infrared and not visible. However, in a dark place you might notice it. Do you have a cover or a screen protector?
