Xperia Z3 Battery Fluctuations but now stuck showing 50%

For the past 2 weeks, my z3 has been fluctuating in battery level. The display constantly shows 50% even if its 100% or 10%. When I connect to a charger it detects it, but the lightning bolt symbol doesn't appear nor does the notification light up.

I discovered that when I apply pressure just above the NFC symbol behind the phone, it will start working as normal and provide the actual battery level as well as the bolt symbol appears with the charging light notification.

Could someone tell me what wrong with my phone. I bought it in September last year.

That might be a hardware issue, but you could repair it with PCC and see if you experience the same thing.
