Shattered Rear Panel

Can a shattered Rear Panel be repaired to the phones full original waterproof specification. I ask as mine is shattered and I am sending it for repair through insurance and I would like to know if repaired will it be as good as new or will they more than likely send me a replacement.

They are supposed to make sure that it is waterproof, what you can do is request a vacuum test as soon as they are done repairing your phone.
